Img translator / Terms
Terms of use
imgtranslator.com is a free tool for replacing the text inside a picture with a translation of it. Using it means accepting what is written below. Last updated 25 August 2026.
1. What the service is
A web page that reads the text in an image, translates it, and re-typesets it into the same layout. It is free, needs no account, and is offered as it stands. There is no service level, no guaranteed availability and no promise that it will keep existing: features may change and the site may be limited, paused or withdrawn at any time.
2. What you may upload
You are responsible for every file you put into it. By uploading an image you confirm:
- you own it, or otherwise hold the rights needed to have it copied, read and translated;
- doing so breaks no law and no one else's rights — copyright, trademark, privacy or confidentiality;
- it is not unlawful content, and it is not someone else's personal, medical, financial or identity document that you have no right to process.
Please also weigh the third-party processing described in the privacy policy before uploading anything confidential. If a picture must not be read by an outside service, do not put it here.
3. What stays yours
Your images and your exports remain entirely yours. Uploading gives us no ownership and no licence beyond the one thing needed to answer your request: permission to send a downscaled copy for text detection and the text found in it for translation, and to hand the results back to your browser. Nothing you upload is used to train models, build a dataset, or advertise this site.
4. Third-party processing
Text detection and translation are performed by outside providers, named in the privacy policy. Their availability, accuracy and terms are outside our control, and an outage on their side is an outage here. Nothing in these terms makes us responsible for what those providers do with a request beyond what that policy describes.
5. Machine translation is a draft
OCR misreads things and machine translation guesses without knowing your context. The tool exists to get you a finished picture quickly, not to replace a translator: every line is editable before export, the original text can be corrected and re-translated, and reviewed strings can be uploaded as CSV, Excel or JSON. Anything you publish is your decision, and checking it is your responsibility. Rendering quality also has limits the site states openly — text over a busy photograph will show erase marks.
6. Fair use of a shared service
The reading and translating capacity is shared by everyone using the site, and it is rate-limited per visitor. Do not try to get around those limits, defeat the bot check, script the endpoints outside this interface, resell access, or run volume that denies the service to other people. Access may be blocked where that happens.
7. No warranty
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of any translation, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.
8. Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, nor for lost profits, lost data, or the cost of publishing material that turned out to be mistranslated. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Changes
These terms may change; the date at the top says when they last did. Continuing to use the site after a change means accepting the new version. If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.
10. Contact
Questions, complaints and takedown requests: privacy@imgtranslator.com. Please raise any dispute by email first — most of them turn out to be a bug report.
